Procrastination is the avoidance of doing a task that needs to be accomplished by a certain deadline. It could be further stated as a habitual or intentional delay of starting or finishing a task despite knowing it might have negative consequences.
What is Dopamine Detox?
You probably don't have any problem playing video games or browsing social media on your phone. In fact, undoubtedly you can sit in front of the screen or do both activities simultaneously for 2 hours or even more than that. But why it is so that with studies, or doing anything harder?Our brain releases dopamine when do something which we like to do.
Ways to stop procrastination
There are many ways to stop procrastination. If you will Google it, you will find many ways which are theoretical. I am going to tell you a practical way which I have also tried on myself.
First of all, select a day from the week to try this method. On a particular day, try to avoid the hyper stimulating activities that will flood your brain with high levels of dopamine.
You can't play games, listen to music, browsing your social media, surfing the internet, or anything that gives you pleasure. Probably, I don't think study gives you pleasure
Besides, You can learn to mediate, read books or exercise.
Conclusion
Surprisingly at the end of the day, you will be so bored that you will do the things that you have procrastinated on tomorrow. It is same like as when you are very hungry, even a bowl of rice appears to be the best food of the world.
It will also trick your brain in doing things which previously you considered as hard.
